Remembering the DreamerCameos of Black Women: A Celebration Of Women Whose Lives Have Shaped America

Sometimes, we take for granted the treasures that are right in front us. Sure, we can look back at our history and come up with a few popular names of people who have made contributions to our society. But what about the countless others who don’t get so much recognition? And what about people, like Marian Wright Edelman, Jocelyn Elders and others who, through their career choices, have made our lives a little better.

Many of us were unaware of Whoopie Goldberg’s struggles with dyslexia, racism and poverty growing up and how she now contributes millions of dollars to the homeless. We bring attention to the fact that Venus and Serena Williams have opened a Tennis Academy to educate inner city high school tennis players in Los Angeles.
