AURN Sr. News Anchor and Sr. Producer Kim Lampkins is a veteran, multiple award-winning broadcaster.
She has interviewed as host of U.S. politicians and dignitaries, from President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, President Jimmy Carter, and President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She has also interviewed numerous civil rights and community activists, as well as national and international entertainers. Kim has provided live coverage from an array of high-profile events including the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, 2004 Republican National Convention in NYC, the G-20 Economic Summit held in Pittsburgh PA in 2009 and more.
An exceptional writer and producer, Kim's special long-form radio special on the life of Martin Luther King Jr. garnered national recognition from the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), as did a special report on climate change from a minority perspective, and an in-depth look at the plight of young black males.
Kim is a member of several professional industry organizations, including the Society of Professional Journalists, Capital Press Club, National Association of Black Journalists, and the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation. She is also founder/owner of Say It Creatively, a freelance voice-over and production company which she runs from her home. As part of her freelance endeavors she is the sole voice-over talent for SiriusXM's Real Jazz Channel, and provides her voice over talent to music media outlets in Chicago, New Mexico and Dallas.
In 2011 Kim was honored one of the New Pittsburgh Courier's 50 Women of Excellence.
